I thought I'd be the lucky one who cheats the seemingly inevitable death of these devices. About 5,000 miles in and it's glitchy with phantom inputs and a jittery, uncontrollable screen. Light research reveals a phalanx of similar results pointing at faulty connections in the display. Same old story. Do I spend another $890 to replace it - fully expecting the same outcome in a couple years - or $599 for a larger, more modern Garmin plus $239 for the mount adapter, albeit while losing the locking security? I love the idea of an integrated BMW model, but it's very hard to recommend with baked-in hardware failure and outdated functionality.
