I recently had the Touratech Fork Cartridge Kit installed on my BMW F850 GSA by Sierra BMW Motorrad. After the installation, I rode the motorcycle approximately 160 miles from Anchorage to Kenai and was immediately impressed by the improvement in front-end performance.
The most convincing test occurred just outside Cooper Landing, when a tourist unexpectedly came to a complete stop on Alaska Highway 1. I had to brake hard enough to engage the ABS. Despite the aggressive braking, front-fork dive was remarkably minimal, and the motorcycle remained composed, stable, and predictable throughout the stop.
The cartridge kit provides a substantial improvement in damping control, braking stability, and overall confidence. This is not merely a subtle suspension refinement—it materially changes how the motorcycle responds under demanding conditions.
